Scaling Swalling Singularity
A downloadable game for Windows
In Scaling Swalling Singularity (SSS), you play as a customized shape to destroy a black hole that is sucking all life in the galaxy ! Dodge space debris and charge your SSS-killer turret and annihilate the SSS ! But beware... the more you hit it, the smaller it becomes... and smaller black holes are more powerful!
(Everyone knows that, right?)
The Theme
This game was made in less than 96 hours for the GMTK Game Jam 2024, theme : Built to Scale
How does this game fit the theme ? --> "Scale" refers to the size of the SSS and as it changes, so does the difficulty of the game: increasing the gravitational force.
Rules
The goal of this game is to destroy the black hole by:
- Picking energy (blue) capsules
- Standing in the platform with the turret for a small duration
- Repeat x5 times to win the game and get your score!
And of course try to not get hit by the debris and get sucked into the hole, or fall of the ring-shaped platform.
Controls
- WASD to move
- Mouse to interact with the menus
Known Issues
The game is buggy. We know! :D
No polishing was done, the physics are scuffed as hell and shaders are not working as intended. We are proud of our idea and we think it's original :)! The execution could have been a lot better, but we had fun and we are fulfilled for making the delievery!
[Fruitless feature] The creation system let's you place the debris together to form a character. In the end, this feature is not meaningful to the gameplay but nonetheless we kept it for anyone to enjoy. Is easier to play as the ball.
